Antigenecity of Tumor-Associated Protein from Skin Tumor Induced by 7,12-Dimethylbenz¡²a¡³anthracene

Abstract
We tried to search for immunological characteristics of membrane protein extracted by 3 M KCI from skin tumor cells of rats which were induced by DMBA. After evaluation of the results obtained from this study, we could reached the following conclusions. After using SDS-PAGE for analysis of membrane protein extracted by 3 M KCI we found the appearance of 54 kd, 27 kd and 11 kd proteins. 54 and 27 kd proteins were known as tumor-associated proteins, and 11 kd was known as a tumor specific protein. Using immunoelectrophoresis and double immunodiffusion, 54 kd and 27 kd proteins were naturally existed in the control group as extremely small amount and induced in the transformed tumor cells.
The 54 kd and 27 kd proteins originally existed in the extracted proteins from the skin of both fetal and neonatal rats, and alos 11 kd protein was a mixture of proteins originally existed in in the skin of fetal rats and newly appeared protein in skin tumor cells only. According to the result of agarose replical 11 kd protein was not fragments of macromolecules. In conclusion, 54 kd and 27 kd proteins are induced more in the surface of DMBA-induced tumor cell membrane and 11 kd protein is thought to be a newly appeared protein.
